"Your many interests keep you busy."
I received this "fortune" at a Chinese restaurant in Berlin many years ago, but I keep it on my desk because it encapsulates my personality. I've always been curious about many things, which has made my path in life anything but direct. I've worked as a hair stylist when I was very young, studied philosophy, and made my way to New York in 1993 to work in book publishing. Eventually, I went to art school (twice): first for design and then for photography.
In addition to being a photographer, I am a book designer and fine art printer. I have a studio in Long Island City, New York and work with a wide variety of clients. In all of the roles I've played, my ability to connect and work with people has always been one of my strongest assets. As a photographer, I pride myself on making people comfortable in front of my camera which results in better images that please me and my clients.
